Ashley Graham: 'I couldn't get a designer to dress me'

August 25, 2017

Ashley Graham Body is rapidly becoming one of the most famous versions on Earth, but the journey has not always been simple.

She recently revealed that she could not actually find a designer that had been prepared to groom her to the 2016 Met Gala, an yearly affair in which the greatest names in fashion and Hollywood collect to show off their red-carpet couture.

So Graham, who'd been on hold for case and not yet formally encouraged, remained home. While the version did not imply that her size was why designers turned down her (she did not have good designer connections nor a great deal of time), there is a great possibility that it had been at least a variable, the magazine pointed out. In the end, Graham does not match into sample dimensions, and consequently would have needed a custom dress.

However, this year, Graham ruled the red carpet in the Met Gala, showing up at a dramatic red dress from H&M.

Rihanna said I looked 'sexy as f--, Graham informed New York. I didn't have a clue what to say for her.

Many designers are incorporating more plus-size girls on the runway in fashion shows and enlarging their own collections to include larger sizes.

And Graham, who sat down with TODAY Style final year to discuss body positivity and self-confidence, is in the forefront of the change.

In the conclusion of the afternoon, we're all created both, '' she stated at the moment. We can't place each other in labels. We must learn how to develop together and work collectively.
